  Buoyed by excellent response for new Meteor 350, Royal Enfield is now readying two new 350cc motorcycles for the Indian market. The new bikes will share the platform and engine specs with the Meteor 350. One of the upcoming RE 350cc bikes will be the new-generation Classic 350, which has been spotted testing in India. Adding to it, the company is also testing a new 350cc bike which is rumoured to be called the Interceptor 350. 2021 RE Classic 350 The new-gen Royal Enfield Classic 350  is reportedly to be launched in the second quarter of 2021, most probably in April-May. It will be based on the new modular J platform, which underpins the Meteor 350. It will be powered by a new 349cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with an OHC design. It is capable of producing 20.2bhp at 6,100rpm and a peak torque of 27Nm at 4,000rpm. For transmitting power, the engine will be coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. However, for the 390 customers there is a steep climb up till the 690/790s. The company has identified the gap and is now planning to fill it up with not just another product but a new platform altogether. The new platform will sit bang in between with a capacity of near 500cc. These models will be labeled with the 490 tag and will carry a parallel twin cylinder engine… yes a clean upgrade for 390 customers!  The BS6 Ninja 300 will use more locally manufactured components. According to a media report, Kawasaki is planning to launch the Ninja 300 BS6 sometime in the first quarter of 2021. The report states that the Ninja 300 will use more locally manufactured components. As a result, the price of the bike is expected to drop from Rs. 2.98 lakh (BS4 model) to Rs. 2.50 lakh. Since 2018, Kawasaki has been sourcing body panels, lights, brakes and tyres from local vendors. The Ninja 300 is likely to be powered by a 296cc, parallel-twin engine that complies with BS6 emission norms. The BS4 version of the bike developed 39 BHP @ 11,000 rpm and 27 Nm @ 10,000 rpm. The 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch are expected to be carried over.

Ever since the launch of 650 Twins, select customers have been waiting for alloys wheels option To ensure that customers have access to all options they might wish for, Royal Enfield will soon be launching alloy wheels for its popular 650 twins, Interceptor and Continental GT. The alloy wheels will be offered as an accessory. 650 twins  currently utilize spoke wheels , which is one of the key design elements that give the motorcycles their retro flavour.
